Recently picked up this car in non-running condition with the engine semi-installed. The engine had been pulled out of a totaled WRX after the engine had just been installed. (Supposedly less than 1k miles on the engine) The Forester had an auto tranny in it but when I showed up the owner gave me the old 5-speed out of the WRX as well. I ripped out the old auto, replaced some seals, rewired some things, bolted up the old manual... aaaand nothing. Fixed a fuel issue, the whole issue where the cams were pointed off in random directions and the engine wasn't getting any compression, new sparky bois, and success. The car ran pretty good, I then had lots of CELs to comply with (mainly due to the tranny swap), reflashed to a Manual '05 FXT base map I found on google (sketch... I know) and it still started and ran. I slapped in a V3 Cobb AP not knowing that I had to have someone else tune it with the whole EPA crackdown but still started semi-analyzing the data. It's now flashed with the Stage 1 91 octane Cobb map.
